Police sought the public’s help in identifying two men who attacked a man in Pasadena Sunday when he spotted the pair stealing his vehicle’s catalytic converter.
“A 50-year-old man heard noises coming from outside his home and discovered two men had lifted his car somehow and were removing the car’s catalytic converter,” Pasadena Police Department Lt. Anthony Burgess said.
The 50-year-old man confronted the suspects and one of the assailants struck him in the back of the head with the catalytic converter, Burgess said.
The theft occurred a little before 12:50 a.m. in the 1400 block of Elizabeth Street, he said. Both suspects fled the scene in a beige or gold car, along with the converter, he said.
Pasadena police urged anyone with information regarding the theft and assault to call them at 626-744-4501 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
