Huntington Beach police Tuesday announced a death investigation stemming from the discovery of human remains in the oil fields southwest of Talbert Avenue and Edwards Street.
A resident discovered the decomposing body of what appears to be a man along with some personal effects and called police at 5:37 p.m. Monday, Huntington Beach Police Department Lt. Brian Smith said.
The cause of death is unknown, so it is being treated as suspicious, Smith said.
