A homeless man was in custody Friday for the alleged bloody stabbing of a fellow transient during a fight in the Los Feliz area amid pricey homes on a major road that leads to the Greek Theatre and Griffith Park.

The victim was hospitalized with numerous stab wounds. It wasn’t clear what his condition was.

There were few other details available, including the names of either man and why they were in the upscale residential area just north of Los Feliz Boulevard.

The stabbing was reported at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday in the 2300 block of Hillhurst Avenue.

Police found the suspect in the area and took him into custody. His name was not released.

Police said the stabbing stemmed from a fight between the two men, and officers described them as transients.
