A woman who apparently was lying under a pile of blankets in a parking stall was fatally struck Monday by a vehicle 1in a parking lot in Long Beach.

The fatal collision happened in a business parking lot in the 2500 block of Long Beach Boulevard, Long Beach police reported.

The woman was hit by a 2010 Scion XB driven by a 27-year-old Los Angeles man. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, the LBPD reported.

The woman died at the scene. It was unclear if she was homeless. Her name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
