Deputy Chief Michael Albanese has been selected as the interim chief of the Burbank Police Department, City Manager Justin Hess announced Friday.
Albanese will become interim chief July 7 after Chief Scott LaChasse’s retirement becomes effective.
“Deputy Chief Albanese is a seasoned veteran of law enforcement and brings an unwavering commitment of service and dedication to our community,” Hess said.

“He is a true professional and I know he will do well in this interim position leading the department.”
Albanese began working for the Burbank Police Department in 2010 as a patrol captain, overseeing uniformed operations. Albanese was appointed deputy chief in July 2015.
