Firefighters knocked down a quartet of stubborn fires Saturday that burned about four acres of grass in a remote section of Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park in Harbor City.
The fires in the park at 26404 S. Vermont Ave., near Machado Lake were reported at 5:22 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
The department dispatched 30 firefighters to the scene and finally contained the flames in four hours and 11 minutes, Humphrey said.
No structures were burned, he said.
No victims were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation, Humphrey said.
