Two men suspected of stealing more than $1,000 worth of shampoo and other hair products from a Temescal Valley store were out of custody Thursday.
Jose Antonio Pajareto, 47, of Corona and Dennis Michael Rogge, 31, of Wisconsin were arrested last week on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy, grand theft and shoplifting.
Pajareto posted a $10,000 bond and was released from the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta last night. Rogge was released from the same facility on his own recognizance over the weekend.
According to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Julio Olguin, last Thursday morning, the suspects allegedly walked into the CVS Pharmacy at 11950 De Palma Road and began grabbing shampoo bottles and other products on several aisles.
When the men left without paying, no effort was made to detain them. Olguin said the loss to the store was roughly $1,300.
He said patrol deputies were called to the location and initiated an investigation that quickly confirmed their identities, though no other details were disclosed.
Deputies went to Pajareto’s residence in the 900 block of Fullerton Avenue in Corona and encountered the suspect in the backyard, according to the sergeant.
“Rogge was in an alleyway behind the residence, and both subjects were detained without incident,” Olguin said. “Inside the residence, deputies located the stolen items, along with large amounts of clothing with tags still attached. The clothing had been stolen from a nearby KOHL’s store. All items were returned to their respective stores.”
The men were expected to make court appearances in 60 days.
Anyone with information relevant to the investigation was asked to contact the sheriff’s Lake Elsinore station at 951-245-3300.
