A major traffic collision prompted a stretch of Avenue 42 in Indio to be shut down Saturday morning.
The street was closed as of 7:30 a.m. between Monroe and Jefferson streets, according to the Indio Police Department.
Drivers were advised to use alternate routes.
The crash was under investigation and further information was not immediately available.
