Deputies allegedly found an illegal firearm while searching a vehicle occupied by a pair of juveniles who had felony arrest warrants in Moreno Valley, sheriff’s officials said Sunday.
Deputies stopped the suspects at 6:11 p.m. Saturday while patrolling the area around Deerfern Avenue and Deer Park Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
They said one of the male juveniles in the vehicle was recognized as a gang member who was on probation in addition to having a felony arrest warrant.
When deputies searched the vehicle, they allegedly found a handgun that had been modified into a fully automatic firearm, sheriff’s officials said.
The two juveniles were arrested for their felony warrants and booked into juvenile hall.
