A 22-year-old woman suspected of stabbing a Mead Valley man during a dispute was being held Thursday on $1 million bail.
Dermiah Ladeja Wilson of Phoenix, Arizona, was arrested and booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning Wednesday on suspicion of attempted murder.
According to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Dave Tinker, shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday, Wilson and the victim, whose identity was not disclosed, were involved in a dispute in an industrial area near the intersection of Harley Knox Boulevard and Western Way in Mead Valley.
During the confrontation, the woman allegedly pulled a weapon and stabbed the man multiple times, Tinker said.
Witnesses called 911, and patrol deputies converged on the location within a few minutes, discovering the victim bleeding from his wounds, according to the sergeant.
“Several witnesses stated they saw a female covered in blood, walking away from the scene,” Tinker said.
Deputies searched the immediate area and located Wilson moments later, at which point she was taken into custody without a struggle.
The victim was taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment. Updates on his condition were unavailable.
