Authorities Thursday identified a woman who died in a shooting in the south Los Angels area that left a man wounded, and continued their efforts to find the gunman.
The shooting occurred at the scene of a crash near 21st Street and Central Avenue about 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Cynthia Hairston, 53, of Los Angeles, died at the scene, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office reported.
According to police, Hairston and a man were in a vehicle that collided with a car, and the other motorist got out and shot her and the man with her. The wounded man was hospitalized in stable condition.
The suspect was described as a man about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing about 240 pounds. He was driving a 2001 Toyota, license number 7NGA480, police said. No arrests have been reported.
