A registered sex offender with multiple convictions for indecent exposure pleaded guilty Wednesday and was sentenced to 16 months in prison for exposing himself in an Anaheim store and punching a man while running away.
Juan Carlos Ortiz, 31, of Anaheim, was in a store in the 800 block of South State College Boulevard in Anaheim, near South Street, just before 3:20 p.m. Oct. 21 when he exposed himself to a woman and then punched a man while fleeing, Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Shane Carringer said.
Ortiz admitted a felony count of indecent exposure with a prior conviction for the crime and a misdemeanor count of battery.

Ortiz has a criminal history dating back to 2005 and has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, according to court records.
He pleaded guilty in November 2020 to a felony count of indecent exposure with a prior conviction for the crime and a felony count of failing to register as a sex offender, according to court records.
Ortiz pleaded guilty to a felony count of indecent exposure with a prior conviction March 28, 2019, as well as misdemeanor counts of lewd conduct in a public place and public intoxication.
He pleaded guilty to a felony count of indecent exposure with a prior conviction Oct. 26, 2017.
Ortiz also has convictions for attempted vehicle theft in 2015 and burglary and gang participation in 2010.
