An antisemitic letter and an unknown substance were found at a synagogue in the Pico-Robertson area of Los Angeles Tuesday, prompting a police investigation.
The items were found about 9 a.m. near the Congregation Mogen David at 9717 West Pico Blvd., the Los Angeles Times reported.
A hazmat team was called to the area and determined the substance, which was found inside a vial, was of no threat. It was not immediately known what the substance was.
The Los Angeles Police Department was investigating the matter as a possible hate incident, though no further details were available.
