Two people were killed in a traffic collision in the Highgrove area of Riverside Tuesday.
Paramedics and firefighters were called at 12:41 a.m. to Center Street and the northbound Riverside (215) Freeway to a two-vehicle collision with two people trapped inside, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene and required the use of firefighting tools to be removed from the vehicles.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the collision, which closed all lanes of the freeway for several hours.
