One person was hospitalized and paramedics released two others from a fire at a parking structure in Santa Monica that involved at least four vehicles, authorities said Saturday.

Firefighters dispatched at 6:25 p.m. Friday to the 300 block of Broadway had the blaze out within 20 minutes of their arrival, the Santa Monica Fire Department reported.

Fire crews suppressed fire on two vehicles that were on fire as a result of a traffic crash. Firefighters initially encountered small explosions due to the vehicles’ electric batteries.
