Firefighters working to put out flames that were showing from a North Hollywood commercial building had to shift to a defensive battle this evening after the roof collapsed at the front of the structure.
The fire was reported at 5:09 p.m. at 6881 N. Troost Ave., said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Margaret Stewart.
At about 5:25 p.m., the roof collapsed at the front of the building and all firefighters were ordered out, Stewart said. All got out safely.
The incident shifted to “defensive mode,” she said, with firefighters working with hoses outside the building to douse the flames and protect surrounding structures.
No injuries were reported.
