Firefighters knocked down a greater alarm blaze Saturday in one unit in a row of one-story businesses in downtown Los Angeles.

Paramedics evaluated a bystander with breathing difficulties, possibly from the fire, authorities said.

Firefighters dispatched at 12:08 p.m. to 1335 S. Santee St. had the fire out within 22 minutes of their arrival, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“One civilian bystander is being medically evaluated for breathing difficulties,” Humphrey said. “No other injuries reported.”

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
