A man fell to death from a tree in Beverly Hills Thursday.

Beverly Hills Police Department officers were called to the area of North Beverly and Coldwater Canyon drives just before 2:50 p.m. on what was initially reported as a traffic collision and found the man down at the scene with a wound to his head, according to police.

Beverly Hills Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced the man dead. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Details leading up to the man’s death were unclear, and Coldwater Canyon Drive was closed between Lindacrest and North Beverly drives for an unknown duration as authorities investigated the death.
