A man believed to be in his 50s was killed early Saturday morning when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in the Broadway-Manchester area of Los Angeles.

The crash occurred at 2:58 a.m. on Broadway at 101st Street, according to Officer Matthew Cruz of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim was crossing westbound on Broadway outside the crosswalk when he was struck by the northbound vehicle, Cruz said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released, the officer said.

The vehicle driver stopped and remained at the scene, Cruz said.
