A rapper and another man were hospitalized Friday in critical condition after being shot during a follow-home robbery in North Hollywood.
The crime occurred about 11:55 p.m. Thursday in the 11100 block of Califa Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The wounded men, ages 28 and 26, were taken to a hospital in critical condition with multiple wounds, said LAPD Officer Drake Madison.
Detectives learned the men were shot by three suspects wearing ski masks during a robbery, Madison said. Witnesses told police the suspects drove away in a white SUV in an unknown direction.
“Based on initial reports, it is believed that the victims were followed home from a recording studio and robbed,” police said in a statement. “During the robbery attempt, shots were fired. Numerous casings were observed at scene and one firearm. Bullets also struck the victim’s vehicle and residence.”
According to Fox11, one of the victims is rapper Wakko the Kidd, who was returning home with a friend from a recording studio on Barham Boulevard in Hollywood when the crime occurred. The LAPD could not confirm that the rapper was one of the victims of the shooting.
