A 21-year-old transient was charged Wednesday with stabbing another homeless man outside of a laundry business in Stanton.

Adrian Ibarra was charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, both felonies, and faces sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury on the victim.

Orange County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 7:38 p.m. Monday to Dirty Laundry, 8051 Cerritos Ave., regarding the stabbing, according to Sgt. Scott Steinle. When deputies arrived they found the victim covered in blood, holding his side, Steinle said.

The victim said he had been homeless for about a year and got into a dispute with the defendant in the parking lot of the business before he was stabbed in the chest and side.

The victim was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange to be treated for the knife wounds, Steinle said.
