A 34-year-old man was rescued by firefighters after he crashed his mountain bike in Tujunga and sustained severe injuries to his chest.
The rescue happened around 12:20 p.m. near 10599 N. Haines Canyon Ave., a trailhead into Deukmejian Wildnerness Park, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
The man was hoisted into an air rescue helicopter and taken to a trauma center, Prange said.
