Two men and a woman were charged Wednesday with a robbery at the Seal Beach Pier.

Carlos Cifuentes, 22, of Garden Grove, Anthony Froilan Fuentes, 23, of Anaheim, and Wendy Alessandra Guzman, 22, of Orange, were charged with second-degree robbery, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury and vandalism, all felonies. Fuentes also faces a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon, and Guzman was additionally charged with three felony counts of being an accessory after the fact.

Cifuentes pleaded not guilty Wednesday and was scheduled to return to court for a pretrial hearing June 9 in the West Justice Center in Westminster. Fuentes and Guzman were scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 16.

Police were dispatched about 11:30 p.m. Friday to the Seal Beach Pier and the 10th Street parking lot regarding the robbery, Seal Beach Police Department Lt. Julia Clasby said.

The suspects pulled in behind another vehicle in a black Honda and two of the suspects confronted a victim, who jumped into his vehicle and locked himself inside, Clasby said.

One suspect slashed the rear driver’s side tire and another suspect started pounding on the driver’s side window, Clasby said. The victim drove the car over a parking block to get away, Clasby said.

Another victim said two suspects approached him in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, opening the door and harassing him, Clasby said. One suspect punched the victim repeatedly in the head while another threatened him with a knife while demanding his wallet, Clasby said.

The victim handed over his wallet and the suspects fled in the Honda, Clasby said.

Police caught up to the suspect vehicle and arrested the three.
