Campus police in Northridge lifted evacuation orders after students and staff were advised Friday to shelter in place or leave the area altogether after receiving a report of a potentially armed suspect.
The regular school semester ended in May, but the university is holding summer session courses.
According to a Cal State Northridge Twitter post, CSUN Police Services advised students and staff to evacuate the campus after becoming aware of a potentially armed suspect at around 3:35 p.m.
Officers conducted an investigation, which later determined no such person was located and the campus was deemed safe for operation shortly after 4:55 p.m. It was unclear how many people were on campus.
