A man was fatally shot in Long Beach, authorities said Saturday.
Officers dispatched at about 10 p.m. Friday to the 5500 block of Ackerfield Avenue located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital, where he later died.
“The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was outside a residence when an unknown suspect shot him,” police said. “At this time, no suspect information is available and the investigation to determine the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.”
