A brush fire in Boyle Heights Thursday burned a half-acre of vegetation.
It took 18 firefighters 20 minutes to extinguish flames near the southbound San Bernardino (101) Freeway near the 1100 block of East Cesar E. Chavez Avenue, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The flames were reported fully extinguished at around 7:30 p.m. with no reported injuries or structural damage.
It’s unclear with may have sparked the fire, and the cause is under investigation, Prange said.
