A 37-year-old man was arrested Friday for allegedly stealing a golf cart from Rancho Mirage, which was found inside the garage of a Cathedral City residence he was in.
Greg Peter Sullivan of Cathedral City was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of being in possession of stolen property, according to Sgt. Michael Judes of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Judes said deputies responded shortly before 7 a.m. Friday to a report of a stolen golf cart in the 73100 block of Dinah Shore Drive.
The location of the golf cart was tracked down, with assistance from the victim, to a residence in the 30100 block of Muirfield Way, according to Judes. The Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team and the Palm Desert sheriff’s station Burglary Suppression Unit assisted in serving a search warrant at the location.
The golf cart was allegedly found inside of the garage at the residence, where Sullivan was also at, Judes said. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio, where he remains held on $10,000 bail.
Anyone with information about the stolen golf cart was asked to call Deputy Mayer at 760-836-1600.
