A man suspected of fatally stabbing his housemate during a confrontation in Moreno Valley was being held without bail Friday.
Demetrius Dontai Windom, 41, of Moreno Valley was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside Thursday on suspicion of murder.
Windom allegedly killed 41-year-old Adam Collier in their shared residence in the 22900 block of Chambray Drive, near Pigeon Pass Road, about 1:10 a.m. Thursday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Ben Ramirez said that patrol deputies were called to the location to investigate reports of an assault and found Collier suffering from “multiple sharp-force injuries.”
Paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later.
Central Homicide Unit detectives took over the investigation and immediately identified Windom as the alleged assailant. He was taken into custody without incident at the house, Ramirez said.
He did not disclose the possible source of trouble between the suspect and victim.
Background information on Windom was not available.
Anyone with information was asked to contact the Central Homicide Unit at 951-955-2777.
