A driver struck a wall in Northridge Friday evening and was killed.
Firefighters, along with Urban Search and Rescue specialists, responded to a crash in the 17800 block of Parthenia Street, near White Oak Avenue, around 8:05 p.m., where the driver was trapped, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
As firefighters attempted to free the driver, they discovered the driver was dead.
Prange said firefighters would remain on the scene to assist with the recovery of the victim’s body, along with giving further assistance to the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
An investigation was underway to determine the cause of the crash.
