A suspected drunk driver is under arrest after allegedly killing two pedestrians in Orange on Thanksgiving Day.

The collision took place around 8:15 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of N. Shattuck Place, a few blocks west of the Newport (55) Freeway, according to the Orange Police Department.

Police said a Ford F-250 was traveling south on Shattuck and veered into a parked Chevy Silverado. Two men from Orange who were standing near the Chevy were struck by the Ford.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect allegedly fled on foot but was located by patrol officers near Lincoln Street and Oakmont Avenue and arrested.

He was identified as 26-year-old Humberto Lopez Flores from Orange. Officers suspect Flores was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.

Flores was booked at Orange County Jail for two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol causing death, and for fleeing the scene of the traffic collision, police said.

Anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact Detective A. Rocha at 714-744-7342.
