Firefighters fought off a stubborn fire at a two-story residence in the Mid-Wilshire neighborhood Friday, extinguishing it in under an hour.

Fire crews were called at 1 a.m. to 916 S. Victoria Ave. between Ninth and 10th streets where they found flames coming from the second floor of the residence, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

It took 46 firefighters 58 minutes to knockdown the flames.

No injuries were reported.
