A fire at a residence in Long Beach was extinguished Thursday as a suspect barricaded themselves at the home, prompting an hours-long standoff after a domestic dispute.
Officers arrived at the 3400 block of Adriatic Avenue around 2:38 p.m. Thursday regarding a domestic dispute, where smoke and fire were coming from the residence, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Long Beach Fire Department firefighters extinguished the fire with no reported injuries.
Police said responding officers and SWAT personnel established a perimeter, and nearby residents were evacuated for safety precaution.
SWAT personnel were negotiating and attempting to make contact with the suspect Thursday evening.
