A person was shot Saturday afternoon on the Hyde Park Station of LA Metro’s K Line.

The shooting occurred at 12:43 p.m. at the station at Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue, Officer Rosario Cervantes of the Los Angeles Police Department told City News Service.

Paramedics took the male victim to a hospital where his condition was not immediately available, Cervantes said. His age was also not immediately known.

The suspect was also male, Cervantes said. He reportedly fled the scene. ABC7 reported that he was described as wearing a red shirt with a blue hooded sweatshirt and jeans, was last seen heading east on 59th Street from Crenshaw.

The K Line is a 5.9-mile, north/south route between the Jefferson Park and Westchester neighborhoods.
