A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking outside a crosswalk in South Los Angeles was identified Wednesday.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office identified the pedestrian as 42-year-old Martin Romero. He died at the scene, police said.
The crash occurred just after midnight on Monday near La Cienega and Obama boulevards, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and was cooperating with police, the LAPD reported. Investigators said drugs or alcohol did not appear to be factors in the collision.
The LAPD’s South Traffic Division was investigating the crash.
