Detectives Thursday were seeking the public’s help identifying a man who attempted to abduct a woman outside a Riverside apartment complex.
The attack happened around 10 p.m. on Jan. 4 at the Sycamore Highlands Apartments in the 5900 block of Sycamore Canyon Boulevard, near the Interstate 215/60 Freeway Interchange, according to the Riverside Police Department.
Officer Ryan Railsback said that the victim, whose identity was not disclosed, was walking at the location when she “was grabbed from behind.”
“(She) managed to escape when another person intervened,” Railsback said.
He said that the assailant immediately fled the location in an unknown direction.
The man was described as in his 30s, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a medium build. The type of clothing he was wearing and other details were unavailable.
Investigators have been unable to develop leads revealing the assailant’s identity.
