Firefighters and paramedics Saturday rescued a hiker who had been in distress in a remote area of Runyon Canyon near the Hollywood Hills, authorities said.
First responders were dispatched at about 12:40 p.m., and a hoist operation extracted an approximately 40-year-man in mild-to-medium distress, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
The victim was transported by air to a hospital. No further information was immediately available.
