A man was shot and killed in Panorama City early Thursday, and an investigation was underway.

Officers were sent to the 9400 block of Van Nuys Boulevard about 12:10 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

Witnesses told the officers that the victim was walking on Van Nuys Boulevard when two men drove up and got out of their vehicle, and he was shot several times, a LAPD spokesman told City News Service.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the 24-year-old man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the LAPD reported. Information on his identity was not immediately available.

No arrests were reported, and no description was available of the suspects or their vehicle.
