Authorities Saturday continued their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a hit-and-run crash in Long Beach involving a mother and her 4-month old daughter in a stroller.

Both suffered non-life threatening injuries, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

The pair were attempting to get into a vehicle in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Eighth Street when they were struck by a passing vehicle.

The vehicle was described as a black sedan with tinted windows, NBC4 reported.

Officers were dispatched to the crash scene about 12:25 a.m. Friday and paramedics rushed the mother and child to a hospital.
