It took 39 firefighters 17 minutes to put out fire in the contents of a room in a Van Nuys apartment building Saturday evening.
The fire was reported at 9:20 p.m. Saturday at 14737 W. Sherman Way, said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Brian Humphrey.
Heavy smoke was coming from the second floor unit of the three-story, 82-unit building when firefighters arrived, Humphrey said.
The firefighters quickly located the source and put out the flames, he said.
No injuries were reported.
