Fire crews made quick work of house fire in San Pedro Tuesday, and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters responded shortly after 2 p.m. to the single-story home in the 2400 block of South Alma Street, where a kitchen fire spread to the attic, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
It took 32 firefighters 22 minutes to extinguish the flames.
Two people in their 90s were in the home when the fire erupted.
“Functional smoke alarms alerted both residents promptly, and the 92-year-old female and 90-year-old man were able to safely escape,” Prange said in a statement.
The two residents were not injured, and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
