A 51-year-old female pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed before sunrise Thursday in the unincorporated Rancho Dominguez area north of Carson.
The fatality was reported about 5:30 a.m. in the 19500 block of South Santa Fe Avenue, north of Del Amo Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the woman as Nicole Cook, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
