A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday in Santa Monica.
The crash occurred about 5:30 a.m. at Ocean and Colorado avenues, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
“The driver of the vehicle remained at the location and is actively cooperating with the ongoing investigation,” police said in a statement on X. “Regrettably, the pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. Identification of the victim is pending at this time.”
Traffic was routed away from the area while an investigation was conducted, but the roadways were later reopened.
