Seven men were wounded when at least two gunmen opened fire in the parking lot of a Long Beach nightclub, in what police are calling a gang-related attack Sunday.

The shooting occurred at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday in the area of South Street and Paramount Boulevard, according to spokeswoman Alexis Lauro of the Long Beach Police Department.

The suspects fled the area immediately after the shooting, Lauro said

Four of the victims were in critical but stable condition and three had non-life-threatening injuries, Lauro said. Some of the victims were taken to hospitals by Long Beach Fire Department personnel while others transported themselves, she added.

Detectives were in the process of interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence and reviewing security camera footage. A news videographer at the scene said the shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Prendido De Noche nightclub.

Police said that in response to the shooting, additional patrol officers and the department’s Neighborhood Safety Bike Team would engage with community members to help identify additional witnesses and leads.

Detectives urged anyone with information about the shooting to call them at 562-570-7244. Anonymous tips can be made to L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477), or www.lacrimestoppers.org.
