Two people were injured Tuesday in a stabbing and a shooting at or near a Metro station in Hollywood.
Officers and paramedics were sent to the 1500 block of North Vermont Avenue at about 9:10 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department.
According to the LAFD, paramedics were directed to the platform level of the station, and they also learned about a second victim nearby at Vermont and De Longpre avenues.
A security guard had been stabbed, and a man in his 40s had been shot and was found unconscious and not breathing, according to the LAPD. No one was transported for medical treatment from either location, according to the LAFD.
According to broadcast reports, a security guard was stabbed at the Metro station, and the man who had been shot reportedly died.
It was unclear if the crimes were connected.
