A 41-year-old man killed in a hit-and-run crash while on a bicycle in Lake Balboa was identified Wednesday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The crash occurred about 8 p.m. Friday on Woodley Avenue between Victory and Burbank boulevards, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A silver-colored vehicle speeding southbound on Woodley Avenue struck the bicyclist, according to the department.
The medical examiner identified the man as Jose Pineda, who died at the scene as a result of blunt force injuries sustained from the crash.
The driver fled the scene, continuing south on Woodley Avenue. A make and model of the vehicle were not available.
