Firefighters put out a blaze in a San Clemente restaurant before flames could spread through the business, authorities said Sunday.
The fire was reported at 9:34 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of South El Camino Real, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
Some 50 firefighters responded to the two-alarm assignment and were able to put out flames that extended into “void spaces” while preventing the fire from spreading throughout the restaurant, fire officials said.
Occupants had evacuated the restaurant before crews arrived, and no injuries were reported, fire officials said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
