A woman was found injured when firefighters put out heavy flames inside a house in the Vermont Vista area of Los Angeles Monday morning.

The fire was reported at 12:01 a.m. at 520 W. 188th St., said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Brian Humphrey.

Flames were showing from the first floor when firefighters arrived, Humphrey said. The fire was given greater alarm status.

The 52 firefighters put out the flames in 29 minutes, at 12:30 a.m. “As the intense flames were extinguished, firefighters discovered an adult female within the home in need of immediate medical care,” Humphrey said.

The woman was rushed to a hospital by paramedics and her condition was not available, he said.

No other injuries were reported, Humphrey said.
