A 40-year-old Norwalk man is in custody Wednesday after he was arrested on suspicion of vandalizing a vehicle in Long Beach.
Long Beach Police Department officers were called at around 8:55 p.m. Monday to the 1400 block of East Ninth Street regarding an auto burglary in progress, which was later determined to be a vandalism, according to the police department.
Upon their arrival, the officers learned two men saw the suspect, identified as Juan Carlos Marquez, vandalizing a vehicle and confronted Marquez, who attacked both victims with a knife. A physical altercation occurred and the victims were able to restrain the suspect.
All three men suffered non-life-threatening stab wounds, police said.
The officers then took Marquez into custody and Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and took all three men to hospitals with non-life-threatening stab wounds. Marquez was arrested for vandalism and assault with a deadly weapon and his bail was set at $240,000, police said.
