A worker was shot to death Monday at a business in the Industry area, and a former employee of the company was detained as a “person of interest” in the crime, authorities said.
Deputies were sent to the 18600 block of Gale Avenue about 9 a.m. on a report of a shooting, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“Deputies discovered the victim at the location with apparent gunshot wounds to the upper torso,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The person of interest is a former employee of the business where the victim was employed and working during the time of the incident,” officials said.
