Police sought the public’s assistance Tuesday in locating a fatal hit-and-run suspect involved in a collision in Exposition Park.

Officers responded to a traffic crash involving a pedestrian struck by a dark-colored SUV that fled the scene on June 19 around 11:10 p.m. near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Budlong Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Detectives said the SUV was traveling eastbound on MLK Boulevard before striking the pedestrian, who was standing in the middle of the road.

The driver continued traveling eastbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard toward South Walton Avenue without stopping, police said.

Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a hospital, where the victim later died.

The city is offering a standing award of over $50,0000 for information leading to the identity, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
